Why Weed and Coffee or Tea Are Perfect Together
I’m a huge fan of caffeinated beverages in general. I love weed, coffee, Yerba Mate, and Matcha. To me, there are few combinations that are better than cannabis and a cup of some lively energy.
Let’s dive into different scenarios that I think are perfect for combining coffee/tea and weed.
Drinking Coffee and Smoking Pot with Marijuana Growers
When I was trimming up in Humboldt County, the growers and I had a ritual every morning of getting baked while having a delicious cup of joe. Sure, things were great where we were, but getting to enjoy the company of others while passing around some joints and sipping on coffee is hard to beat.
Some days were hard at the farm; growing, harvesting, and trimming weed is no easy task. It’s a multi-step process and if things go wrong, a lot of money ends up being blown. It helped us to be able to sit together, shoot the shit, get high, and drink some coffee to get us energized for the day.
Weed and Coffee for Creativity.
I find that coffee or tea with pot really enhances my creativity. The caffeine gives me a boost in the morning while the cannabis calms my nerves and promotes some really fun ideas. I don’t like to feel like I depend on anything, but sometimes these stimulants provide me with a jolt of inspiration that seriously compels me to play the guitar or sit down at the drums.
Another favorite activity of mine is to get really caffeinated after a dab or a few bong hits and listen to Enter the Wu Tang. I feel like to really get this album you have to be up there like they were. I mean this isn’t to say that you can’t appreciate it if you’re not high. But it seems to make more sense.
Coffee and pot are also great tools to use as a writer. I find they help me to defeat writer’s block. This is why my morning routine usually consists of some coffee or tea, and a hit or two. Then I start grinding away as it’s important for me to get going as early as possible.
Enjoying Coffee/Tea and Blunts at Yosemite National Park
Earlier this year I visited Yosemite National Park. It was so f-cking cold every morning! Like I mean 9 degrees Fahrenheit. My first thought was always, “Ok, I’ve got to heat up some tea.” So I’d get out of my cozy sleeping bag and dart over to the bear box. Then I’d brew some Yerba Mate with herbs and honey. Getting really caffeinated is the only way to get up early when it’s that cold.
Now, I was lively and awake and ready to smoke. I had blunts rolled and ready to go because everyone knows how it’s nearly impossible to roll a joint or blunt when you can’t feel your hands. I smoked a blunt, and holy shit I was feeling good. It might be hard for you to understand if you’ve never been to Yosemite Valley before, but there are no words to describe how beautiful it is. It really is unreal. It’s like you’ve teleported from Earth into another dimension. You can especially feel this way if you’re already really baked.
By noon it would warm up to the 60s which was rare and perfect. So I was lucky while I was there. By this time I would go to the lower falls, smoke another blunt, and then go to the pool below the waterfall where there was usually a rainbow. It was astounding.
Marijuana-Infused Coffee
A wide range of cannabis-infused coffee and tea products have hit the market.
Kannaway, a subsidiary of Medical Marijuana, Inc., has released single-serving coffee and tea pods infused with 10 mg of hemp-derived CBD per pod. Make sure to try it. Here is a recipe for you.
Coffee and a Joint – The Bottom Line
I don’t like to feel that I’m ever dependent on a substance. Sure these drugs are wonderful, but they can be abused if one is not careful. Make sure to enjoy and appreciate them, but don’t become so attached that you feel like you need them to enjoy life. Because you don’t.
