Best Jimi Hendrix Songs for an Acid Trip
Today would have been Jimi Hendrix’s 78th birthday. Born in 1942, the rock and guitar legend was a counter-culture icon in the 1960s.
I was first introduced to Hendrix’s deep cuts in high school, around the first time I was also introduced to an innocuous substance known as LSD. All innocent on that little piece of paper right there…let’s see how that went….
Later in life, I was introduced to Jimi Hendrix’s Rainbow Bridge concert video, also with LSD, and that shit hit directly on my brain stem.
From there I was always a causal Jimi Hendrix fan. I’ve made beats out of his music. His wild-style guitar mastery and trippy audio wave vibes always have a way of transporting me back to the days of chewing on blotter sheets of paper.
To celebrate the late great Jimi Hendrix, I’ve put together a shortlist of the best Jimi songs for an acid trip:
5. Earth Blues – Rainbow Bridge OST
4. Dolly Dagger – Rainbow Bridge OST
3. 1983 – (A Merman I Should Turn to Be) – Electric Ladyland
This intro guitar riff might be my favorite part of any Hendrix song. This entire song is other worldly.
When you consider this track was recorded in 1968, that it was done on a reel to reel, it’s kind of amazing to listen to.
2. All Along the Watchtower – South Saturn Delta
Jimi did it better than the original. This is a rarity in music but he pulled it off.
Jimi’s interpretation of the Bob Dylan original is a masterpiece to behold.
1. Hey Baby (New Rising Sun) – First Rays of the New Rising Sun
Hey baby. Love this song. The break down is absolutely ridiculous. Worth the trip if you end up here.
So this is where I leave you on this journey. Hope you find what you’re looking for, no matter where the path takes you ✌️
List Of Jimi Hendrix Trippy Music to Listen to When high
There’s nothing like a nice high and great music to make things even better. The sound of great music always enhances your time with friends, but without the right beats, there is a sense that something is missing.
Jimi Hendrix was someone who always fancied a psychedelic trip. So it makes sense that so much of his music sounds amazing when you smoke a bowl while listening to it.
Since this is an article all about Hendrix’s work, narrowing it down to his best trippy song is a bit hard. But in my opinion “The Wind Cries Mary” is a song that hits the spot and is our favorite song for tripping. Besides this, we’ve compiled a list of all the Jimi Hendrix songs that will make your high experience even better.
